MEC follows a-Wolrd 2.0?

Why would be be a blog like this a topic on a board meeting at a multinational company like MEC?
- to MEC
Some weeks ago I've learnt that MEC's board meeting issued and agenda point for this blog.
Knowing this made me rethink if there's anthing to change here or if it is at all could be a problem to anyone.
Let's see how it happened.
Now I - as most of us - have a profile at facebook/iwiw and pages like these. So it is no wonder people could find me through those. As of course my work status was about to chnge during the summer and the former blog was in some point a bit different positioned I chose not to publish openly my blog address on these pages. But before I had some weeks (months) when my blog was named on my facebook profile too.
Now my colleges back then also quite big fans of facebook and I really liked MEC's facebook activity (considering the Hungarian region). A media director also appreciated it so facebook was flourishing over there.
Once I gave my notice in I was expecting all kind of reactions from MEC's side. But the reactions were very good. I mean they really wanted me to stay and offered new positions and they were basicly open to save me for them.
As I think i was a loyal employee all the time I really liked the fact that they were trying to convince me to stay. But my chance was a must to live with. And i made up my mind and left.
In spite of my leaving, I liked to work at MEC. Had a well organised opportunity for career, in where a capable one could easily reach a good position in time. My plan was to stay in my old position and as i feel capable I could use a promotion in somewehre the 2nd and 3rd year where I could have worked another 2 years let's say before the next promotion. I was spending my 2nd year and the expected promotion was on it's way and actually arrived after I quited. And after that who knows... Maybe a 4-5 years of work all together could have been enough for me reaching a nice position.
But not to forget: we live in Hungary where people tend to categorize and to be honest: to discriminate.
Luckily I never had the problem of facing such act. But it doesn't mean I've never met it. i wouldn't even dare to think that MECcommited anything like that. But so true: making fun of facts there were funky.
Well... I'm in the wrong direction... back to the topic.
As I've heard MEC's board meeting mentioned that a former employee (me) is writing a blog.
Now here the question: why is it important? Is it imnportant cause they
- just liked it and passed the info about it on?
- thought I write sg illegal/not nice?/ about them?
- made some sexist jokes about it?
- had nothing better to do?
- were just interested?
As I'm naive I like to think the latter is the true. But I might have the truth somewhere between the lines... Whatever. I would just like to state: I'm proud that they have once checked my old(or current) blog out and whatever they think of it, I hope they managed to get better with reading it or they just had fun.
So welcome MEC!
